Help Sheet

How can I ensure the best quality of photograph?
If you are using a digital camera we recommend setting your camera to the maximum/best resolution.
If you are scanning a photograph we recommend setting the scanner at 'high quality' or change the scan resolution to 300 dpi (dots per inch.)

The photo space on each Picture Perfect calendar page measures 19.7cm wide by 10.1cm high. Therefore the closer your image is to this size the clearer it will appear.

Please remember 'the better the quality of the image - the better the quality of the finished product'

Can I use Portrait images?

Yes you can, however landscape images look better from a style perspective.
Portrait images will have a thicker border (please see the example below).

Can I upload photographs from the Internet?

If the images are royalty free and of a high resolution, yes.
Photographs published on the Internet are mostly very small and carry a low resolution. When stretched to fit the calendar photo area, the image will appear broken and unclear.
However there are certain websites that stock ‘royalty free’ images that are available to purchase (usually relatively inexpensive). If you are purchasing one of these images ensure you request the ‘medium’ size for the best print quality.
Images that carry royalties possess a copyright that belongs to the photographer, and their reproduction is illegal. Please do not upload these types of images.

Can I upload photographs from my mobile phone?

Yes you can.
However please be aware that these photographs are unlikely to be as high quality as photographs taken by a digital camera.
Below is an example of the difference in image quality between an average digital camera and an average mobile phone camera.
